No tbh I enjoy getting them as they're all different & then intense cleaning + polishing , curing any ails , changing the wheels then happy to see them go to new owners who hopefully appreciate the time ,effort & £ invested

The 3 Zeds I've seen you turn around have certainly benefited from the Mr Wilks touch :thumbsup:
 
Interestingly Mrs w was instantly taken with the Si when she drove it at weekend
Noticed the extra punch straight away & the smaller sports wheel & overall feel & sportier drive
She even volunteered to doing some miles when we go to Wales in a few weeks time

She wasnt keen on the heavier clutch & gearbox in comparison to the N52 set up
I also don't think the livelier backboxes were her style either :oops:

A woman of discerning tastes, obviously more suited to the less lairy Alpina :D
 
Hmm, yes. If BMW could get VW or Audi style gearboxes than that would be a great improvement.

For sure , son,s Scirocco R box & clutch is a dream in any gear any temp , none of the "its not bad from first to second once warmed up " nonsense

Usual combo of black liquid shoe polish / dye mixed half & half with AG sealer , always had good results :thumbsup:

It is a great shade Ged , my 4th grey Z colour owned & at times reminds me of the sterling grey in certain light :? very rewarding to polish & to photo
 
So car booked for windscreen with AutoGlass for yesterday 8am /1pm & the only note i added to the online booking form was
" Please note that only a OEM windscreen & seal will be acceptable , not aftermarket "
Fitter turned up around midday with a aftermarket one :headbang: sent him packing & after contacting my insurer its re-booked for this Thursday with genuine screen
Made all the worse when the fitter said to me after id refused it " yeah we have a fair few call backs to Z4s with the aftermarket kit fitted , the seal across the top is narrower so can leak & doesn.t sit flush down at the corners so can give some extra wind noise at certain speeds " :cry: " & the curvature of them is not 100% as the OEM one so makes it difficult to bed in if temps aren't over 15deg :roll:

We shall see the outcome on Thursday :wink:

There's a rubber seal runs across the top that the roof sits onto , OEM approx 25mm ? the aftermarket is around 20mm , i measured them yesterday
