3.0si service intervals

Firstly apologies as I know this has been discussed before, but having searched i cannot find what I am looking for.

What are the z4 service intervals as I am confused between time and mileage?
My car is on 39000 miles and I do an annual oil service but not sure when an inspection service is due? Is this based on mileage or time? Prior to my ownership it had an inspection 1 but i have now had it 3 years and done 8k miles and worried I have missed or am going to miss an inspection.

it should be serviced at least every 2 years, or sooner depending on mileage

i believe its oil service, inspection 1, oil service, inspection 2, oil service, inspection 1, oil service, inspection 2 etc
 
Inspection services are mileage based so like me it's possible to have more oil services in between them.
 
Thanks chaps, that seems to be as I suspected and means I probably haven't missed the inspection 2 as it hasn't shown on the computer yet.

so whats the mileage between inspections, is it not mileage or time depending on which comes first?
 
I think it's strictly mileage - about 15k. I think BMW recommend an oil change at least every two years regardless of mileage but don't think the service indicator will come on for this. I expect most people on here would change oil more regularly anyway.

well i've had my service on age, my car is 6 years old and only got 18k on clock

:thumbsup: That's what I'd do too! I got inspection 2 done because if I stuck to BMW schedule it probably wouldn't ever get done! 18k!! Bet your service light has never been on!!

On a non ///M it's not so bad, but there's no way I'm getting my shims checked every 6k (4 years)
