3.0si SE suspension

Out of order, why? Personally (if I had my time again) I would be happy with the 3.0SE... reasonable power, fun to drive etc... but when I had the 3.0 the price differential was massive to the M. Now, if I was not happy with the drive of the SE I'd swap it for the M.... otherwise you're on the road to becoming Jonny Essex, with the world's most expensive non-M Z4.

I would say the 3.0i are fast cars and obviously the 3.0si a tad quicker again but the massive difference in price for an M your average working man simply can't afford if running 2 cars too. Pass us all some of your money please :D

An M is very fast but I know unless I was looking to track it, I wouldn't bother as it's just too fast for our roads here, it's hard enough keeping the speed down in my 3.0i :driving: :D :D beautful cars and sound awesome but I couldn't justify the running costs either with a hefty £500 year tax bill

Agreed mate - I drive loads in the city and couldn't really appreciate the M3, the running costs also didn't make it worth it imo :)

Yeah cars like that are begging to be tracked too as much more fun can be had.

It just gets on my nerves all the, "should of got an M" comments!! If I had a spare £15k + I may have done. :D

Just out of interest your saying about suspension but hasn't yours got the m sport suspension on as standard. My 3.0i se does and it handles beautifully and I don't think I could handle the car being any lower with speed bumps and not to mention getting in and out of the car!! Lol

Hi Bill,

If your car is sitting on SE springs then the best thing you can do to firm up the handling is to fit the stock MSport springs. I know Mr.Wilks had a set for sale recently, but otherwise they do come up used every now and then. These lower the car by 15mm from stock.

I fitted Eibachs recently, which lowered the car another 15mm and it is more comfortable but even lower so depends on how much clearance you need.

As you have such low mileage, the bushes should not need doing so a strut brace and/or upgraded anti-roll bar would be a useful addition.

Check your vin out bmwvin.com to get the full spec of your car. My 3.0i has the M sport suspension on it so you may find yours does to. That's also were I found out I have the carver stereo system too :D

Or get M-wheels which are wider back so you won't need any spacers

Good Year F1:s were on my last z4 - those were very good tires, liked a lot. Now I got new Conti Sport 5:t and can't tell any difference.
