In fact i've just took a second look at your graph most good tuners offer 7 day trial id be asking for a refund as the new map doesn't look any diiferent to the original. It almost mirrors it what's that all about. Are remaped car for performance would have a steeper curve then would go flat later later in rpm. This is what makes the car feel like a new car al that extra torque earlier which is what shifts you and you pushes you into the seat. Bmw set there peak torque around 3500-4500 rpm on the linear oem map. It just looks like they have mirrored it to me the curve is almost the same and still linear curve of power/torque yes its remaped but not a good map at all

Total rubbish.

Care to elaborate? I do not claim, by any means, to be an expert in all of this. Just interesting to hear different peoples opinions/thoughts on what I had done.

I have actually referred the tuner to this thread to ask for his comments. If anything, this will all help to inform other Z4 owners as to the merits of mapping and what can be achieved. Which is what I wanted to do in the first place - help others out :)

I'm not going to quote your entire reply goldbcfc because it's irrelevant to my point.

My statement is just that - a statement of fact that a quick Google does not provide universal acclaim for the company you mention. M3 cutters has some negative feedback, for one, so it is incorrect for you to state this as laughable, unless you wish to dispute those accounts directly, rather than my statement.

I am not referring to any of the work or its quality, nor your experience, nor that of this company/individual.

I do not need to read anything, other than what I have, to make my factually correct statement; it is this tone and method of response that you take, i.e. telling people what to do, that is what I believe most find tiresome about your posts.

That's not a fact, however, just my personal opinion and, if correct, something worth reflecting on.

[........blahblahblah........If you have been to bmw annual show you would know BW chiptune sets the fastest times for both non aspirated and turbo bmw cars each year.

All this aggro, and I'm just curious as to what a Non-Aspirated car is

I mean I wont hold my breath for an answer.....

I'll get my coat.....

I have asked the tuner this question. You're right- the new map simply tracks the old power delivery just slightly higher. No improvement on power delivery/aggressiveness. Very odd.

I'd seriously get your money back petrol tuning is complicated ive had bad remap before on 330ci was down on power after even though the car felt quicker was odd. dyno can be hit and miss though so its more about how the car feels after to drive than gains form my exp

I personally know this guy from being in the trade myself at Volvo. I've been driving bmw last 10yrs so heard the horror stories of tuners. You may of heard a few bad stories its really not damaging his reputation trust me you can't please everyone and M car owners are just annoying most have all the gear and no idea. Evolve is the bigger company many will praise them and if your looking on m3 cutters of course they will its a Luton based firm everyone goes to. BW chiptune has been an approved tuner on bimmerforums.co.uk for many years try looking through tuning section you will see plenty of good reviews over years. The 3.0i AGGRESIVE REMAP was actually first made for Kav Bamhra's show car about ten years ago it featured in bmw mags and Kav is a well known bmw owner of many modified/tunned bmw's. As many had tried remaping 3.0i bmw engines with no significant results Jason bought in a car and worked on it for months befre releasing the remap to the public for sale. Mine went in with approx. 228 and came out with 250bhp ive got the dyno graph on old laptop. This totally transformed the car and should of been how it left the factory......anyway im just speaking from exp of remaping 3 of my own petrol bmw's 2 with other tuners End tuning / modern mapping and 1 with BW chiptune. There are many good tuners out there don't get me wrong just none will get gains like he does. He was an ex bmw technician before he started the tuning company so knows his stuff when it comes to bmw's. If I lived closer to London he would do all my work for servicing etc hes a bmw guru.

Sounds like a good experience with some balance, this is much better to inform others and helps when considering options. I certainly will.

And here's little old me having looked at the damos for the 3.0si and adjusted amongst other things the valvetronic max adjustment, lambda target, vanos range and rev limiter, revving comfortably to 7.5k without tailing off the power, and generally thoroughly enjoying and benefiting from my map.
As a side benefit the car now gets to 60 in 2nd with no tail off so is noticeably quicker to 60 should this sort of thing interest you.

For what it's worth I'm far more interested in how it drives - the way it revs hard to the limiter is an absolute hoot - makes you want to chase the top end and makes it actually rewarding to do so....

Anyways I'm sure as my mapper has no reputation in the bmw tuning world and hasn't got a subscription to revo or some other remote tuning franchise pedalling out of the box generic maps under the banner 'instant 10bhp guaranteed', I'll be shot down, but it's interesting how experiences differ....
