Stick to Colin Chapman's theory; Simplify, then add lightness. Losing 10kg is easier and cheaper than adding 10bhp.

The Z isn't exactly a lightweight, not sure why it's so heavy. Probably the badges...

Supercharger costs what? £2k +engine mods to sustain boost? How much would come lighter seats, carbon wings (front and rear) bonnet cost vs weight savings?

Just a thought. Has anyone done it? Put their Z on a diet and see what happens?
Flatout shed 100kg from his ///M with lighter seats, wheels and battery as well as a BBK, coilovers and 100 cell race cats / new exhaust.

it would be nice to got an extra 10hp from my 3.0 si.
from 289 to the magic 300hp!

FI for the N52 is verboten. Due to the Ali-Mag engine it has to use aluminium head bolts. And their tensile strength is to low to support high cylinder pressures. But of course the engine is quite a bit lighter than the iron ones. So one gets a bit better handling and a few Colin Chapman HP from it.

A stock 3.0Si has 265 ponies, not sure where 289 came from unless you've found a way of adding some already ?

My solution to desiring more power will eventually be an M. Until then, I find flooring the fcuker at every (safe  ) opportunity makes me feel fizzy enough for now :driving:

Yep, not quite sure where you got the extra 25bhp to start from?? Depends on why you need more power? Or do you just want pub rights? Handling, driver training is the key. But as above weight makes a load of difference. I drove my TVR on Monday (first time in 3 months) and was surprised at how much quicker it felt off the mark. Mind you it is around 300kg lighter. I suspect the seats, trim and saftey features all add a fair bit of weight.

Has anyone just fitted a lower final drive?
top speed is limited on the 3.0 and very few people need that top speed. I wonder if a final drive from a 2.5 fitted to a 3.0 would give 15% better in gear acceleration or so ..

that and a lsd ......
