3.0Si Exhaust Options

Hi all

I've had my 3.0Si E85 for about 7 months now, it came with a Remus backbox fitted.

Unfortunately I've had it on the ramps recently and the backbox is blowing now, with some small holes in the bottom, along with a leak due to corrosion where it was cut further up to have the backbox fitted by whoever had it before.

I've been looking but there doesn't appear to be too many options for replacement, looking at either the Gravity system (although I don't like the tailpipes) or a Scorpion system which would replace the whole lot. I've also seen the Eisenmann back boxes and the Supersprint box but they are serious money and I'm not sure its worth spending that.

I quite like the sound from the Remus but it can be a bit boomy - so just wondering whether I've missed any other options?

Eisenmann is excellent. The previous owner installed it on mine and it's fantastic. But yes, £££.
Read many reports of the gravity system fitting quite poorly, sadly, as it looks a good solution.
I'm sure the gravity system can be persuaded to fit properly by any decent zorst shop, though.

You could go back to stock? It’s quite refined, but you can play tunes with the induction noise instead.

I've recently bought the Gravity CAT back system. Had a code off eBay that saved me £75 so only paid £299.99
Not fitted it yet and will be getting my mechanic to do the work as I don't have a ramp, and I'm not as young as I used to be lol.
The system looks good, and you get the flag gaskets, jubilee clips and new studs included.
I'm going on holiday on Tuesday for a week and will get my car booked in when I get back. If he can remove the old exhaust without cutting it I'll keep hold of it incase it can help someone out who needs a replacement

Hi did you get the Gravity fitted? Are you N52 engined?

Yes I have had it fitted, and yes it's the N52 engine
My mechanic told me it was a bit of a pig to fit and need to fettle the exhaust to get it to fit. I still need to do some fine adjustments on it, and I need to make a heat shield for the bumper where the exhaust goes, but other than that all is good.
It sounds nice but it has made my right foot a little heavy lol

Something else I should say. If you google "fitting gravity exhaust to BMW Z4" you will find a video by Keep em running. This is a very good guide and will show youth after market exhaust hangers you'll need and where to fit spacers

Did just a muffler delete on my N52. Crackles and tone were nice. Probably not the most refined setup and quite a bit of drone cruising on the highway, but it's a sports car so whatever.
