3.0si Engine Oil Grade Change?

Typical conflicting information today from the BMW dealers - The grade of engine oil to use to top up the Zed.

Stratstone in Derby said to use Castrol Edge 0w-30.

Sytner in Leicester (after going to check with the workshop) said to use Mobil 1 5w-30 - apparently this is a recent change in recommendation.

(car is a 57 plate, 3.0si coupe)

Does anyone have the definitive answer?
 
No answer here, but I went to get some oil to top up from the dealer (the last time I went I got a free quart of oil), well anyways had to pay for this quart $6.68 :o

Oh right the topic...

They gave me the bmw brand high performance full synthetic (looks like regular oil to me :lol: ) it's 5W-30
 
I used to buy mine from the parts dept anyway, £12 a litre but I only ever used a couple so no big problem. Least then you know you're getting the right stuff I suppose.
