Hi everyone!

I’m looking for a very well looked after Coupe. Ideally it would be:

- Under 80,000 miles
- In very good condition
- Properly serviced (to the schedule, at BMW or specialists)

Ideally I’d like the following spec:

- MUST be manual
- MUST be a Sport
- Blue, Black or Grey preferred, but I’ll consider all colours
- Ideally with cruise control
- Ideally without sat nav
- Ideally with an upgraded sound system
- MUST have heated seats

That’s about it, I think.

I’m based in Wiltshire, but happy to travel for the right car.

When I was looking a couple of weeks ago there is a company down your neck of the woods called Evo motors.

They had 3/4 si's in stock and a couple of M's

Apologies if you have checked them out already.

Good to see you are looking for another Z4. I see that you have had one before and also a M roadster. Interested to get your feedback on the thought process of coming back to the coupe versus the roadster. I am torn between the two body types. Love the roadster but the coupe looks amazing and might be slightly more practical. Unfortunately over here manual Z4’s are rare as hen’s teeth in any shape or form. Good luck with the hunt.

I loved my Roadster, and I’d have another, but two primary reasons are putting me back in a Coupe... Practicality (I knew a chap who put a bike in the back of his Coupe when I had mine), and looks. I’m buying to keep this time. Famous last words.

Hey! Yes I have seen them, and plan to see their black one this weekend, but having already spoken to them, it definitely isn’t in the condition I’d want.

Your signature has given me a reminder. Do all Coupes have xenons?

If not, that’s also an essential.

Out of interest what was up with it? Looks decent from their pictures- I guess looks can be deceiving. I think he wants a bit to much for it.

In all honesty, the xenons on these cars are so poor, I wouldn't make that a deal breaker. If you ended up with a car with halogens, the upgrade options are probably better, and the cost of the units if you needed to replace are cheaper than the xenon equivalents - and I speak as someone with xenons....
 
What’s your budget?

With your list of requirements (which are the same as mine were) you’ll be looking to spend 8-9k.

I was looking for exactly the same as you and also contacted the dealer in Swindon, but he’d taken a deposit on the car I was interested in. The other black coupe he has for sale has dropped 1k in 8 weeks so he may be willing to drop it more.

I also kept an eye on FB and Autotrader and saw a few sheds before snapping up mine the day after the advert appeared for not much more than the other cars I looked at.

If you’re after a minter, then patience waiting for the right car to be advertised and then swift acting when it does appear will see you sorted.

EVO motors do a fair bit on ‘sale or return’

The car you are interested in may not be owned by them so if you like it after viewing I’d clarify if it’s one they own or sale or return?

Maybe a bit easier to negotiate once you know
