3.0se, 145k miles, little s/h, what would you change?

Had the car a month and I love it.
Had an annoying stalling problem from when the engine was cold after sitting for hours at temps bellow 12c... This was solved by reprogramming & updating the DME. Car seems so much better in every aspect now, highly recommended.

So far I've had the idle control valve cleaned.
New disa.
New coolant.
Air filter.
Maf cleaned.

Will run a bottle of techron through it next week and do a full oil change, new spark plugs & all new bosh coil packs. As well as new front disks and pads.

Anything else I should be looking to replace to freshen her up? Sensors? Engine parts etc...

Oil leaking through the Rocker cover gasket seems a common problem. Easy job.

I'd also have a look at the bushes and suspension as if they're still factory fitted items, they'll most likely be shot and need replacing.

Regarding the engine, not much actually goes wrong. Coil packs are a good one like you've already said. Just keep it topped up with quality oil.
 
Thanks... I do need the suspension doing next.
What would you recommend for shocks an springs? Not interested in coilovers.
 
Runs great though, had the guy take it to my garage for inspection before I bought it.

It'd done 79k of those miles in the first 3 years whilst still under warranty, so that's good in a way. Average 7k per year since & I only do about 4k a year so others will catch up.

I got it for a bargain to be fair, it was up for 5k, then 4.5k...had a look, test drove etc... Then the roof broke! The guy was crapping it at the thought of £600+ to fix...haggled him down to £2900, scrapped my car for £350... So in theory I got it for £2550 and the roof was a broken wire...fixed for £300!

My thinking - £2850 for a 2004 3.0se sport, heated seats, cruise control, mfsw, sat navigation, Bluetooth, auto zenon lights wipes etc... 18'z4m wheels. Bargain!

In 4 years time it'll prob have 165k on the clock and i should still make back most of what I paid.
