3.0i Z4 economy!

I think economy depends mainly on the different 3.0 engine. I have the 06 3.0si ED engine and have seen an average of around 44mpg when cruising at 70 on motorway. For a car with 265bhp and 44mpg is impressive! Always in sports mode!

I have a 2007 3.0si. 44mpg!! Are you pushing yours around? :P

I got 40.3 on the way to work this morning. Thats a 30 mile journey which is 1/3 motorway. Just drove smoothly keeping with the traffic and then kept at 70 on the motorway. I forgot how slow 70 feels on the motorway.

I did Newcastle to St Albans in Jan, my 07 coupe got 32 mpg......and I did it in 2 hours 56mins :D ...........of course....never broke speed limit

Thats good going i normally get 26-28mpg including motorways but i did get 33mpg at a steady 80-85 3.0 Auto.

me and a mate of mine who has a modified e46 330i have come up with a great idea to improve fuel economy which is never have it selected on the computer ! :D

I get late 20's, I don't drive it with economy in mind, it's a sports car!!! If I want economy, I drive my diesel company car. Same all over though, I think the economy for a high performance car is nothing sort of stunning. I seem unable to cruise at 65 - 70 on the motorway, it always creeps up to 90+ even when I'm trying to be good lol......

I average 28mpg on the computer, but it's nice to see it go up to 37-39mpg ish on a steady motorway run.

I drive steady on the boring bits, then when I hit the fun roads I can treat myself to WOT and full rpm's ;)

My computer just reads 29.3 all of the time and never changes so i will take no notice of it.

If you're not constantly caining its dibbles they the economy is quite impressive.

Hehe, it does seem to settle to either that or 28.2 or .8 on mine...

I think the lookup table is fairly low resolution so it ends up with those few values the longer you let it average for.

I get 30 mpg if I'm on a long drive on the interstate at 75+ mph driving like a grandpa, but some of the mpg's you guys are getting seem to be crazy. I can't even fathom getting 38+ mpg at any point even with a light foot. I swear there's much more difference with the steering wheel being on opposite side :headbang:

Nothing to do with the location or steering wheel! :P I can't believe those figures either! Best I have seen is 30mpg. Average around 27mpg. :?

Try changing up a gear

Geez... I must be enjoying myself waaaay too much... My average fuel consumption over the past 7 weeks was 12.5 liter / 100 km (22.6 mpg UK / 18.8 mpg US), but this was mostly in the city, with at least two traffic lights or roundabouts per mile. :driving: Cruising on the highway results in a little under 9 liter / 100 km (31.4 mpg UK / 26.1 mpg US).
