I'm assuming my 2005 3.0i is still on its original M Sport suspension so i think its time to refresh it all. What are my options given that I don't want to lower it and I don't want it any stiffer than it currently is?
Its seems that there is not a lot of aftermarket choice out there for M Sport cars but hopefully someone will be able to suggest something that won't break the bank :-)

Suplex springs for same height or SE if you want higher. New dampers, Bilstein B4 are good, or Sachs. Refresh all the rubber, lower control arms, arbs etc. Upgrade the rear lower bushing to the same as the upper and replace both. If you’re doing the work yourself I’d suggest getting all the parts for the front struts, assemble off the car and then just swap.
If you’re really serious then do as many other bushings as you can.
The one part I defo suggest poly for is the RTABs, just make sure you use lots of grease.

Sorry for taking such a long time to reply.
I guess it could all be changed for standard suspension which might give a more comfortable ride and I’d be happy to have it a little bit higher as well.
I’ve heard people say B4’s are quite firm?

I have done exactly what Steve said above, Suplex springs (original M-Sport height) paired with Bilstein B4 shocks. The shocks are barely firmer than Sachs OEM ones. You might be confusing the B4 shocks with the B6 or B8 shocks. B6 and B8 are considerably firmer as well as designed for lowering.

I got my Suplex springs from this ebay seller: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/car_parts_international. Note, make sure you check the Suplex catalogue to find the correct part number for your Z4 (catalogue found here: https://www.suplex.de/suplex-katalog/?lang=en).

I got my Bilstein B4s from this ebay seller: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/tdcautomotive. Again, make sure to check the Bilstein catalogue to find the correct part numbers for your Z4 (catalogue found here: http://web1.carparts-cat.com/defaul...8D1A584FC5B84E0D98B45B08B6D2DE99018004&12=100).

This was the cheapest way I could find to replace the shocks and springs with good quality replacements.

I have also just swopped fronts for b4 and suplex now awaiting delivery of the same for the rear.
I havent notice much difference in ride quality or ride height, but its defo improved the sharpness and directness of the steering,i would recommend these but make sure you order the sets for msport suspension if thats what you have.

Thanks all! I’m just scared of spending money and ending up with something I’d hate. I’d sacrifice comfort for handling.
B4’s sound like they are worth more investigation and yes, I probably was mixing them up with one of the others!
