3.0i or 3.0Si - Roadster - 6k Budget - Manual

Hello,

I am posting this as I can't seem to find any decent examples for sale. Most for sale on Auto-trader etc currently are either in poor condition, haven't been particularly well maintained or have numerous advisories on the MOTs.

I'm looking to spend no more than 6k, ideally I'd like to keep it south of this as possible. If the perfect car came along though I'd consider going over budget :P

Not too fussed on color, black or grey would be preferable though. Has to be manual with FSH and in great condition. I'd love the coupe but its well out of budget so it has to be the roadster.

Thanks

Well firstly welcome to the forum.

There don't seem to be too many Z4s for sale just now, but if you aren't in a hurry a bargain may appear. I put my Montego Blue 3.0Si Sport on 91K miles up for sale a year ago and got no response until I dropped the price to £6,600 in January, then the first person to view it bought it! So you never know, an E86 may be an option - much better idea anyway IMHO.

Just a thought, but you might want to include 2.5Si models in your search as they are nearly as powerful as the 3.0i. Facelift models came in SE or Sport trim and the Sport models had M-Sport seats as standard which are very sought after - to the tune of £600/700 a pair! They were an option on all pre-facelifts so not many have them.

Enjoy your search anyway.

For 6k you will be able to bag a well-looked after, low-milage 3.0i as well as maybe a slightly higher-mileage Si.

Spec is everything at this price point so you should expect to find all the toys; heated sports seats, bi-xenons, MFSW, satnav, cruise etc.
FSH as you rightly stipulate as well as preventive maintenance items should be obligatory for a sale.
HAve a look at the buyers guide post here for some pointers on what to look out for as well as the classifieds and don't be afraid to ask for advice. We're a friendly but possibly somewhat cantankerous bunch of old farts who sometimes like to opinionate but help and advice are always imparted when requested.

Good luck!

Probably selling my roadster. It’s a 2.5si, hellrot, 224 alloys, manual, black leather, full service history and it’s sitting on about 55k miles

Thanks for your responses guys. Regarding the 2.5, I don't doubt it's a fantastic car, but I've come to the conclusion that it is the 3.0i or Si that I would like to purchase. If i urgently needed a new car then it would have definitly been an option, but I am not in a huge rush.

To the member that PM'd me... I am very interested! But I can't reply to you as I'm a new member! If you see this could you PM me again your email address and I'll get back to you via there. (Apologies in advance if this is not allowed)

Thanks

Not too sure if you are still looking but my car that I've just advertised seems to fit what you're looking for.

If you consider a 3.0i as a option then why rule out a 2.5 Si :?
N52 straight 6 215bhp against M54 straight 6 with 228bhp :?
Factor in the Si being newer , having no ambers , nicer rear lights & more likely to have Msport seats i know which i would rather have
