3.0i brake disc thickness

Evening all.

I was just wondering if anyone knew the minimum brake disc thickness for the 3.0i?

The reason I ask is that as I have mentioned in other posts I have a 4K mile road trip in September. The car rercently flew through its MOT with only an advisroy that the rear pads were approaching 80% worn.

I changed the front pads last year, and will change the rears within the next few weeks, but I was wondering what the minimum pad thickness is? I have had no warnings from BMW and it has been for both a service, safety check and MOT in the past 5 weeks. Would rather not fit new discs if not necessary as money is tight at the moment...

Apparently according to my dad who works in the motor trade its very common for MOT testers to fail discs for being too thin when they cannot be bothered to measure them properly and go by looking at the lip created on the disc where the pad doesnt touch! Interesting fact... Sounds like you just need your pads changing if BMW have not flagged it in a service.
