Tentative For Sale ad for my 3.0i auto roadster, for no other reason than it will allow me to get another one. I’m on the look out for my next project or an M.
2003 3.0i auto roadster
Maldives Blue
Just under 82,000 miles
10-speaker HiFi (not DSP)
Satnav
CD auto changer
Xenons
Cup holders
Cruise control
Storage nets
2 MOTs in my ownership - no advisories
I purchased GD03YLX this time last year but laid it up for much of the winter for refurbishment/upgrade work:
- full suspension refresh including new top mounts, springs and Sachs dampers all round. New wishbones at the front.
- Front hub refresh including stripped and powder coated kingpins and new wheel bearing assemblies.
- Front brake upgrade to 325mm 3.0Si spec. Painted (black) callipers all round.
- Upgrade to M-Sport seats (heated, manual), dyed 2-tone Syrah/black with matching door cards.
- Painted Aluminium trims in matching Maldives Blue.
- Flappy paddle conversion.
More recently I have undertaken:
- full service including spark plugs and brake fluid (i.e. Inspection 2)
- Replaced VANOS seals using X8R kit
There are a few items that I would address if I was keeping the car:
- two of the 103 alloys have surface contamination that I can’t shift. Ideally these need a rub down and light refurb
- Two tyres require replacing soon (square set up 225/45/R17)
- Satnav screen does not pop up reliably
I can offer with the car:
- Original aluminium trims
- All parts to retrofit isofix / passenger airbag disable
- 20mm spacers fitted to rear
Service history is a mixture of garage and self-service, but do not expect BMW FSH. It had clean oil when I bought it, and I have since done a full Inspection 2 as above. The top end was very clean when I had the cover off to do the VANOS seals.
- 07/07/03 PDI
- 07/12/05 Oil service and brake fluid 17,566
- 19/03/08 Inspection 1 22,593
- 15/02/10 Oil service 27,204
- “2012” Oil Service 33,205
- 11/12/13 Oil Service 37,306
- 08/06/17 Oil Service 57,990
- 19/06/17 Coolant change 58,150
- 20/09/18 Oil Service 68,012
- 28/03/22 Inspection 2 and brake fluid 77,568
- 21/04/24 Inspection 2 and brake fluid 81,051
Overall condition is very good with no notable dents or scratches excepting the front lip and the small dent I put in the boot lid last week. There is the usual road rash on the front bumper, but Maldives Blue is quite a forgiving colour. If I can find a new boot lid before the sale I will fit it, otherwise I’ll give £200 off the price for the next owner to do themselves. Roof is in good condition, works fine and the motor has been relocated to the boot. Aircon blows hot and cold correctly.
For total transparency, there is some colour variation between the panels, which suggests the front bumper, near side wing and passenger door may have been resprayed or replaced sometime in the past. You would only notice close-up in the right light. All are in good condition with no evidence of accident damage.
I am based near Farnham, Surrey/Hants. Looking for £5,500 ovno
I have sold two cars to forum members previously (both Maldives Blue roadsters
) and I hope they would both vouch for me.
