Hi all … I feel I’m getting a handle on my newly acquired Z4’s bodywork . Spent a bit of time giving it some love and it’s booked in for a front end respray on the 22nd April , after which I’ll get it paint corrected and ceramic coated .

My attention is now turning to the engine and parts I’d like to replace due age more than broken .

What should I be looking to do ?

I’m thinking

CCV
Water pump
Thermostat
Oil filter housing gasket - already has very very slight weep at the top section
Ider pulley ( is that the same as the tension puller ?)
Aux belt

Anything else while the inlet manifolds off ?

If anyone has any links to any of the parts for my car I’d greatly appreciate it … I’ve got myself completely confused as to what parts are what on Autodoc

Thanks for any help

Have a look at my Project Spa thread.
In particular the bit about pulling the non-return valves to the vanos solenoids.
I had never heard of these before, but they turned out to be relatively simple to extract and clean.
The gunk in the filters was quite surprising.

Also worth looking at the top cover gasket, along with the eccdentric cam sensor seal and the valvetronic motor seal. If never done then these are likely to be past their best. Again my 'Spa' thread gives some idea.

Oh, and by the way, that is the weirdest body board I've ever seen. :?
