3.0 SI winter wheel and tyre size

The 3.0si comes with 225/40 r18 fronts and 255/35R18 rears.
Can x4 8J width alloy wheels with x4 225/40/18 tyres all round be fitted for winter use with no problems?

Sure, that is the standard non-offset configuration anyway. The 17" wheels appear correct, though I'm not sure about the offset, but it sounds about right.

You can also fit 225 in all 4 wheels on a staggered 8.5 wide rear staggered fitment.

225/45/17 is the BMW recommended winter tyre size. Though many choose to simply use standard sizes.

I've got 4 x 225 40 18 winter tyres on my staggered z4m wheels. That's what BMW recommend for winters.
