Hi all,

long time lurker but finally signed up!

The eml came on my e86 with codes for all four 02 sensors, I did a bit of research online and found someone else who had this and it turned out to be the 90 degree elbow connector on the ccv apparently.

So I have recently changed this part along with rest of the ccv, then cleared the codes. how ever after a short drive the eml is back on again. :headbang:

I only have a cheapy obd scanner could this be the reason or is it something else?

cheers

Probably one of the lambda sensors. Do you still have codes for all 4 showing as faulty?

I got an Amber EML on my 2nd Coupe and booked it in with my local Indy.

While he was running diagnostics the battery died. :( Anyway the faults were for the post-cat 02 sensors on both banks. Codes cleared, new battery fitted, a dose of Cat-A-Clean for good measure and that seemed to cure it.

So daft as it sounds it might be worth checking the state of your battery.

Very unlikely all 4 sensors have gone bad at the same time. Make sure all your ccv pipes are connected right so they are airtight. Then turn your attention to all the rubber intake bellows from the Maf to the throttle body and check these for holes or splits. Then check all the other rubber vaccum hoses across the engine. Replace any found with holes or splits. What were the codes the O2 sensors were reporting? If you had access to diagnostics capable of viewing live data you would be able to see what the sensors are performing like. You should be seeing the pre cat sensors making a nice wave form as their voltages range up and down the post cat sensors remain pretty static until they pick up something abnormal in the exhaust.

i cant get to my scanner tonight but i assume its throwing the same codes. Ive just thought i should probably check the fuse for the o2 sensor and elbow connector circuit see if that's blown
