3.0 Si Insp 2 quote weirdness

Inspection 2 is just about due, since the car is under the insured warranty I set about getting quotes for the service from dealers.

Sytner Cardiff £550
Partridge Southampton £520

Dick Lovett Swindon £410

I asked the girl at Swindon why there was such variance. She said they should all be the same and that I could find out the price by using www.bmwservice.co.uk

I tried that, it confusingly returned £438.

Any advice where else to try? I'd take it to Swindon but it's a bit too much hassle as I'd have to wait a few weeks for a courtesy car.
 
I paid £438 at Ocean BMW (cornwall) they price matched the exact price you found :) booked it in advance and got a 120d for a couple of days to boot, nothing to write home about but good fun to donut in the carpark :p

ask your garage to match the price, they probably will
 
Thanks Will. Getting some more quotes, interested so see what Sytner Cardiff have to say about the inflated service cost.
 
FWIW

I paid £490.80 all inclusive for the Brake fluid service and the Inspection 2 Service @ BMW Bristol (Cribbs). Got a 520d courtesy car which was a right giggle aswell, miles apart from my Z4 but the auto box was a godsend in awful Bristol traffic.

That is a 30% discount on Labour and a 15% discount on the parts (apparently).
 
Have you tried the website Maindealerdiscount ?

I just put my detials in and for and inspection 2 it came in at £360 odd quid all in.

I have used it before and its great way to save cash on services at BMW dealers. I saved a couple of hundred pound on my service on my 4 year old 123d in the past as well.

The quotes I got for an Inspection 1 on the M were between £600 (MDD) and £1200 (Berry Chiswick).

That BMW-Service website doesn't list the correct (or all) items in an I1/I2 for an M (e.g. no valve clearance check, or diff/gearbox oil on an I2), so I'd be wary about whether they actually do everything or just what's listed.
