my 53 plate 3.0 z4 has developed a slight missfire, only when under load, doesnt do it under gentle acceleration and only between 3-5k revs

not had chance to code read it, is there any common faults i should be aware of before i start replacing things?

doesnt seem to have any other effects on the car, just annoying

could be a coil pack going down, probably is, best thing to do is get a second hand one from a brakers and swap them one at a time until the problem goes away, then either use the second hand one or buy a new one.
The cel light will come on if one goes completley but if its just tired it wont.
I doubt it will be more than one thats gone down with you saying slight misfire, if more than one it would be terrible to drive.

I am in chesterfield and have software to read fault codes, if your local drop me a pm :)

thnaks mate, it sounds to be a coomon fault after reading about :)

bit annoying atm but not effecting the car so much but i guess its only a matter of time before it gives up the ghost

i wouldnt leave it mate, if its misfiring, the fuel is not burning properly and will end up in the cat converter, if you leave it like this it will eventualy damage the cat, and at 150 each!

get it done sooner rather than later.

I had this problem once ages ago, i dont think it was a misfire. I did a throttle adaptation reset and it disappeared for good :D
