People will pay what they think is a fair price.
I took my car to a several dealers to see what they'd offer for a trade (97 P Civic Vti) most I was offered was £750 the rest were about £500, told them I'd wait and sell it for at least a grand, one guy laughed and told me Id never get more than £750 for it. I sold it for £1200 last week...
They will, and 12k is a little over the odds here (and his problems in selling and delay to April/May, presumably to take advantage of better weather and the like, justify my comment quite clearly).Simmo said:Spud said:You've got absolutely no chance of getting 12k for it.

I put my car on this site to test the water, I did not want to sell it until late April or May and will be advertised on PH for £11500+

Spud said:Hang on a minute, you were saying £12k before.
Now you're talking about advertising it at £11,500, which we all know means you'll have to take a slight hit on, as no-one likes to pay the advertised amount. That'll be £500, as a ball park figure. The only reason you've had any interest is because of the hard top - you're missing too many important options to price at at the top end of the market. As has been said in another thread recently, people value cars like this with their heart and not their head - and that's why some remain advertised forever on places like PH and AT.
So, when all's said and done, you're getting pretty close towards what I valued it at in the first place.
