3.0 Exhaust finishers

My chrome exhaust finishers are looking a little grubby and pitted, so I've had a look for a new set, looks like they are about £40. I reckon the previous owner didnt really clean them which is why they have corroded, however I just wanted to make sure.

If you clean them regularly will they stay nice, or are they simply doomed to become corroded because of the exhaust vapour?

A tube of Autosol mate...absolutely the best product for cleaning your exhaust....apply it, work it in, buff off and the jobs a good'un!!

Autosol is good, like Maguires NXT as well.
If to start with it is really horrid you can always use very fine wire wool to apply.

Check detailing world forum out for plenty of good advice.

I had a 2003 Z4, bought in 2003. I put on exhaust tips and when the car was totalled with 236k miles, the exhaust tips still looked pretty good. All I did was to wash them.

I've tried autosol on my existing finishers but although its brought the outside up a treat the inner edge is badly pitted and too far gone I reckon. If I get a new set i'll treat them to a regular clean.

Cheers for advice chaps.

P.s, the trims can b sourced from bminiparts
