3.0 Coupe 6 months later

Hey Guys,

6 months in and I'm still grinning from ear to ear every time I see it! Nothing better than seeing it parked at Heathrow T5 after a long business trip and driving it home :driving:

There is only 1 thing that bugs me and I can't let it go... The twin pipe exhaust, its just so unbalanced I need a Quad. I've even considered swapping it for the M but I actually prefer the versatility of the 3.0 engine compared to the 3.2 and with the sound generator mod and slightly less painful running costs its more than enough for me :)

Nervous about the idea of someone cutting out the bodwork to fit so if anyone has done any research on good sounding quad's (not chavy) options and good fitters please post!

Cheers

p.s just realized I posted this under problems by accident.. Unbalanced exhausts are a big problem in my OCD mind :)

I know what you mean, i still smile every time I see mine too, there are a number of people who have had the quad exhaust mod, RichardG and Ranski iirc , I'm sure they will be able to advise you

Totally agree with you. It was one of the first things I did when I got my coupe

I originally bought an M rear bumper but ended up puuting the original back on.

It wasn't that expensive and it completely transforms the rear of the car. Sounds good too :D

what puts meoff is thinking it may sound louder

i am probably odd as i like quiet cars

To be honest Taz you only hear it when you are up the rev range. Driving normally I can't hear it at all. I've been told that it sounds great on full throttle but I'm always inside so have no idea

Thanks guys for the reply!

Where did you get it done? What exhaust did you go for? The original bumper looks good on yours considering they just cut a piece out or was there more to it? :D Why did you change your mind about the M bumper? (also looks good).. so many questions :D

I had the system built by a guy in East Kilbride. The full details on the system and more pics are here: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=26487&p=366833#p366833

I changed back to the original bumper as I had few people telling me I was an ///M wannabe. I was never intending on a replica and simply bought it for the ease of not cutting the original bumper. I have to say that I prefer it the way it is now but it's really personal choice.
