2p worth on some adverts

Hello,

Can anyone with more knowledge than me (which will be everyone) chime in on the value/spec issue? I'm looking currently but am a bit curious as to how some seem (to me at least) to be priced a bit high vs the spec etc as per the great info on this forum. I just saw another post with a similar theme so I thought I would get on the bandwagon ASAP.

I just pulled this one off Autotrader based on it being 3.0SE and under 60k which is the ballpark I would go for probably as and when I find the right one. Personally I would be budgeting about 6k which I think rules out a 3.0si for now.

Advert states M sport seats. They are not, just standard sports seats.

Has cruise, heated seat and xenon.

Average spec tbh.

Other than the 6k, what are your requirements. I’m guessing auto.

Thanks for the info. I put the wrong link in (it was a late post haha). I've put the link in below as it is a manual which is more my thing. As to requirements: manual, heated seats, in good nick really.

With the one below, it's got that but not much else from what I can see. From what I've seen that would make it a bit over priced or am I missing something? This seems like a 5.5k car to me but not sure.

Like you said, seems like a 5.5k car.
Luckily the market is stagnant and they might accept a low offer, just be prepared to walk out.
Check that it's had time based services and not just on miles, 55000 miles means it might've just had three services since 2004, not a nice thought

halogen headlights
no MFSW
no cruise control
doesn't look like it has cup holders
17" alloys
something not quite right with boot brake light, might be cracked.
 
@philbo909: I just called about that. Seems it has service at 52k 2013, then another 54k 2017. A concern that whoever had it didn't two the every two years service whatever mileage he was doing in it!

@mac27040: great spot on the light, I missed that entirely!

They said it would have a pre inspection service with "whatever needing doing done" and also would do the breaks pipes which are MOT advisory due to corrosion. However I would think to be happy it would need all the fluids replaced including break, diff etc to be safe, but again would they go that far on an offer of well under the sticker price? It's unlikely I think.
