Please HELP, retired veteran with limited mobility. I apologize in advance if I left out any key information :tumbleweed: :tumbleweed: I just need some tips on what to do and how to identify exactly what’s wrong

Hi there from a fellow vet.
Got any codes?
Sounds like a kbus issue but that is usually due to one of the control modules being faulty.
Are you UK based?
If so then happy to help

Great questions and thank you. No codes related to electrical. No check engine light either.
From time-to-time I get a yellow or red Explanation point, but it goes away.
The only other code is a P102, which is because I think I need a new MAF.
I’m in WA State.
“K-Bus huh? I’m going to look this up now
Thanks for responding, I didn’t think anyone would.

Ah ok. I’m UK-based but still happy to help if I can.

Just an easy one and most likely you have tried this already, but charge battery and disconnect it for a while? During my 20ish years of ownership I’ve had a couple of times, after recharging a flat battery, all kinds of unrelated electrical gremlins that disappeared with a disconnect-reconnect cycle.

Thank you DMike. I have tried this at least 5 times and I still have Gremlins. Maybe something got over saturated after sitting for so long. Gremlins like water here in Washington.

WILL THE ZEDGODS PLEASE ANSWER MY CALL!!! :headbang:
K BUS: Does the K stand for "Kamala" because I can't find any, K-bus-es, anywhere?
After checking many forums and Ytube It could be in the trunk, remove the whole center console, or kick panel either side, remove the whole fuse box and check relays/K-bus-es.
This is insane.

There has to be a central location with a singular component that is either corroded, grounded, or AFU... I have found nothing above to indicate this. Any pics or suggestions would help, I am low on PTSD meds, I'm lost, and I feel as though I am breaking more than just tabs as I troubleshoot.

 :x

Deep breaths.

The k-bus is like a ring main that provides a means of communication between all the control modules.
I cannot remember the wire colour atm, but it is the same on every component.
On a uk car they all meet behind the glove box. Early cars had a ‘comb’ connector but later ones they all meet in a big wrapped up part of the loom.
If one module has an issue then it can cause others on the k-bus to exhibit spurious faults too.
It is a complicated process to isolate which module is causing the problem as the OBD port takes info from the k-bus so may well not be able to communicate with several modules.
You can disconnect one cable at a time from where they all meet up. When everything starts to work properly then you have disconnected the cable to the failed module. Do then you need to work out which one you disconnected.
It is not an easy process unfortunately.

Restoring this car. Had been sitting for 5+ years. I got her to run but can't fix electrical (she is so much fun, sometimes I wonder how it stays on the road and others times I'm like this car is invincible.
I really appreciate the help.
Way better than anywhere else on the internet.
I figured there would be countless videos and Bill Cosby Picture Page tutorials, but nope.

Awesome!

Ok, so at least my info was for the correct model.
I'm pretty sure yours will be the earlier connector. Looks like a comb, with loads of spade connectors on it.
I'll see if I can find better info and a photo for you.
