2D Fluorescent Lamps to LED

Ive got two of these lamps on the kitchen and it a room that gets quite a few on /off cycles, consequently the lamps seem to only last a year or thereabouts. Nothing like the 1000,s Hrs they promise.

Can I replace these with a 38w equivalent LED light unit - I understand the starter has to be removed but I'm unsure about the Ballast unit.

Ive just used my last spare cfl so now seems to be the time to change. Are there any types / makes that should be avoided?

Any pointers would be a help please.

Not sure exactly what you are after but I would replace them for a LED strip/batten light . I replaced the fluorescent lights in the garage with these https://www.screwfix.com/c/electrical-lighting/led-battens/cat8010010?cm_sp=managedredirect-_-lighting-_-ledbattenfittings and they have been excellent . We get small power fluctuations and never had a problem or with the amount of times they are turned on and off . There are loads on Ebay also for example https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=led+ceiling+strip+lights+office&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=led+ceiling+strip+lights&_sop=12

Agreed, just swap them for led battens, I've got the Lap ones in the garage and they are the dogs!

Led batten fittings in the garage/ utility room would be fine but I don’t think they would look very nice in the kitchen.

I really want to replace the fluorescent 2D tube to an LED array.

Something like this Ron? These are cool white, so a very white light. Should swap straight in.

No, I’m afraid tubes are not allowed!

There are circular LED arrays available and that’s what I need to use.
