2c24 DME Oxygen Sensor Conv. mix

Hello everyone,

I'm appealing to you all, because I have an oxygen sensor problem on my 2005 BMW Z4 E85 2.0.
Since I got it, I've been trying somehow to solve this little problem. Which in the end turns out to be a nightmare.
I did several garages (in London) but they didn't know...

The problem seemed simple at first, here is the error code:

002c24 DME: Oxygen sensors before catalytic conv. mixed-up

I simply took the manufacturer's reference and replaced the two Bosch oxygen sensors.
Then, I inquired, and it is possible that the cable to the computer is damaged, so I also replaced it with a new one.
After erasing the error code, it comes back immediately... I will admit that I am starting to get desperate.
I can't be the only one having this kind of problem, can I?

I hope someone can help me, because really, I have more solutions.

Thanks very much !

Welcome to the forum.
Just checking the obvious to start with. That code says your sensors may be cross connected.
I'm no expert on the 2.0 engine, but is it possible to simply take the connectors off each one and put them on the other?
See if that cures it?

Also have any other connectors been swapped? I also haven't see a 2.0 but assume it's one sensor per bank of 2, so the cables for the injectors could also be potentially swapped if not the O2 sensor cables?
