29F2 Error Code

Hi..

Is this going to be expensive..

The following code jumped up today after 10 mins driving it also appeared last Thursday but have not driven the car since

- DME active codes -
29F2 - DME: Fuel high-pressure system, fuel pressure.

Its on a 35i

If you search the fault code on here it will take you to another thread regarding the replacement of the high pressure fuel pump, but could also be injectors or the low pressure pump.

Best thing is to get it diagnosed, looking at the other post for a high pressure pump it could be around £1500ish.

I doubt it.

HPFP seems to pop up once or twice, then dissappear. Then pops up more & more frequently over the coming weeks / months before it ultimately fails.

Clock is ticking.

Technically could be the HPFP or LPFP or injectors - or a mixture of any of the above.

There is a weakness in the HPFP on these cars that is quite well documented if you do a search, but just because that is quite common doesn't automatically mean yours is failing.

If you can, I would try & get a detailed scan done that might give more details.

Hi Again.

Back from the garage and as you all suspected it looks like the HPFP is on its last legs. Speaking the the mechanic he said I could probably do it myself as it's not really a hard job just takes time to get to it then. Has anyone got a vid or a walkthrough. There are loads on YouTube for 335i.
