296 on non-run flats

I realise the style 296 are prone to cracking, but how much less likely is this if they’re not on runflats?

Anyone know if they’re light for a 19?

Tyre spec , size & pressure can make a massive difference in chances of cracking but other deciding factors will always be there , such as where & how many miles is the car actually driven .
296s on runflats doing 3k a year probably have a better chance than 296s on non runflats driven 6k a year :wink:
They are a nice wheel , no lighter than any other 19inch Bmw rim though

It’s seems the 296 is more prone to cracking than others, hence my question.

Considering options for my new E86, but may stick to 18’s

Having said that, I think the 313’s look great on a Coupe, so may look for a set of those.

They don’t seem to be any worse than 326 style, and they do look perfect on an E89. I have them and only 1 rear has a crack and that was due to an enormous pot hole that destroyed the tyre so would probably have damaged most alloys.
