28i - sounds "tappity" when idling

Happens at cold start and once warmed up whilst idling, no issues once over a 1000 rpm or so, almost sounds like a diesel.....

Been to Le Mans and back and it was pulling along very nicely, just wondered if its a common trait with these or whether its something more fundamental?

It’s normally the engine driven vacuum pump at the back of the timing chest…makes all those 6 cylinder boys gringe..they all do that to a lesser / greater extent..
