2869 DME Ram Check Faulty - repair provider

I have been slowly spending heartbreaking amounts of time and money on my 2003 3.0i manual and, just when I have her driving really well and I'm thinking that's it for a while, she went into limp mode last week with the accompanying dash lights at 60mph on a dual carriageway. Pulled over, restarted ok and got home, but my scanner gave me the 2869 code. I cleared it and rescanned but it came back. She does start and run but I don't know how long for so she's on the drive at the moment.

I'm in Milton Keynes: is there anybody who could advise me on how I progress with getting this fixed? Is it a case of buying a replacement DME and then looking for somebody who could code it to my car / clone a replacement, or whatever the process is? Is there anybody any experienced fixer anybody can suggest I'm honestly at the point where I'm just thinking I'll get rid of her as a project car for somebody, but I'd be genuinely gutted as I really enjoy this old shed!
 
Source a replacement dme and code out the ews using the software a number of us have available
 
That would be amazing: I'll see if I can sort a DME ... mine is a 2003 SE 3.0i manual, are there different variations of them or is one way to look at the one in my car and see if it has a specific number on it? I'm assuming it has to be for the exact same car? I guess eBay / car breakers?
 
Put a wanted ad up on here and use realoem to get a list of compatible dme

Someone will have one

I’ve only got later si ones at the moment
 
As an aside when I had this happen first time I noticed it did it a lot when it was hot

I assumed it was a weak solder in the dme
 
Yes same here: I've had the car 10 months with no issues like this, then it's been so hot recently I recently replaced the AC compressor a month back because I was way past "it's hot, I'll take the roof off" coping mechanism
 
Hi. I can help coding it. I have a 3.0 DME too but it’s from an auto and I don’t know if they have different software?
Not home from holiday until 13th though

I have a DME on the way and I think I might have a way of getting it cloned but, if not, whereabouts are you?

Attleborough is near Snetterton Circuit, just south of Norwich.
I don’t ’clone’ it, just remove the link to the EWS so it will work properly.
