EML popped on today, quick code read with the Creator 310+ showed 2772 Tank vent valve activation.
Cleared code but it came back. I did add a new O ring to the fuel tank cap as I saw that it was developing cracks. Put an R30 O ring behind the original and the cap now seats tight when twisted on to lock. Code still came back after doing that so have ordered a replacement fuel tank breather valve which is located by the throttle body in the engine bay, I suspect its gone duff, didnt have time to check it out further. I would have checked its resistance which should be around 25 Ohms, will check it out when the new one arrives.
The fault code hasn't affected the drivability of the car, just the annoying EML.
Some informative videos on this fault code on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RljrPFrVEO4

No Rob still the 2003 2.5 E85 and the 99 Z3 1.9
Managed to post in wrong thread should have been in E85
Maybe the Mods will move it to the E85 Thread

This is a Vv that controls the fuel vapour venting into the inlet manifold, nothing to do with filler caps, you will find plenty of YouTube videos on the subject of testing the Vv if you search 'BMW 2772 code'

Fitted the replacement today, took 10mins.
Code had been already cleared so will see if that keeps the EML off, also waiting for a replacement Fuel Cap gasket, not convinced the added O ring I fitted is allowing the cap to seal altogether.
Measured the resistance of the old valve it came out as 26ohms which should hve been in spec, the new one when tested came in at 24ohms which is in spec so that makes me more suspicious of the fuel cap gasket despite what @mcbutler posted, have trawled through youtube for all on Code 2772 when I first got the EML and code.
