255 vs 245

Hi

Unfortunately Th Goodyear Eagle F1 for my rears 255/40/17 are on back order in the UK till to October so no where to be found, some websites got them advertised but when I phone them they say the same thing :(

For now I will be changing just the fronts.

I was told by a member here that I can use the 245/40/17 instead.

What would be the difference ?

Virtually no difference that would be noiticeable on speedo or felt by the driver
