255 tyres ?

At the moment I have 245/40/18

I have been offered a good price 255 tyre. Will they fit on the z4 ok ? It's a 2003 plate
 
I am driving with a 255 and a member on here said its OK to put on the 245 !

I am looking for the F1 Eagles 255 but unfortunately blackcircles are out of stock.

What would be the difference between 245 and 255 ?

You need 35 profile if you want to go to 255's else gearing, speedo will be out.
Also note that fronts are 225/40/18, so it's a big step up in both width and profile even if with spacers you can make them fit.
 
A 245 40 will not be far off 255 35 rolling numbers if both fitted to 8.5 rims
OP needs to state whether running a square 8j or 8.5j set up to work out his numbers
 
Not really sure why you would use a 245/40 on the rear, if it's an 8.5"" wide rim of course.

My 255/35 Hankook Evo 2's look lovely and thick, sidewall wise, compared to my previous 255/35 vredestein sessantas.

Either way, we need more information.

Are you saying you want info on 255/40/18 or 255/35/18?
What size are your current wheels, width wise and overall diameter?
Why do you currently have 245/40 on them?
