Well I've just changed my back tyres and Ive gone from 255/30/19 to 255/35/19 and so far it does feel better. I noticed last Friday when I was checking the tyre pressures (as I do every 2 weeks) a big bulge in the sidewall of one of them, I took the wheel off and I couldn't see any cracks (I know I hit a pothole about 2 months ago  ). Ive also gone from Pirellis to Goodyear Eagle F1's because they have a better rating in the wet. The other rear still had 5mm on it so ill pick up another rim and use it as a spare and it does fit in the boot (but nothing else will!).

Doesn't that knock the speedo out of whack? Its a 4%increase in rolling diameter.

"out of whack" as in more accurate you mean ? always worth checking any cars actual speed via GPS so you know if over or under

I don't know about my speedo but my back feels better, don't seem to feel every bump in the road and Ive lost that grimace on my face which I had when the car ran over any missing tarmac or potential pothole :(

The speedo reads 5% high on most vehicles. Increasing the rolling radius will make it more accurate.
