Hello all.

Great hols, 3 weeks off and got the Z back :D with ACS CF diffuser installed and Pagid RS29 (squeeky dirty things they are  ) will post pics soon.

Anyway after a run at 245 kph (a short one) I could hear a slight rubbing noise from the front left. Stopped and found the black plastic brake intake had dislodged from the front bumper housing. Its from the same side as I had a VERY light scratch from a parking (in france they put pavements everywhere). So I'm gessing the plastic bended and popped one of the screws. Still its a bit worrying. The part is fairly soft plastic so I don't think it could have caused a blowout.

Worth cheking this 2 front bumper parts if you're doing a high speed run. :o

The two upper mounts (the two square pads in the upper picture) look like they have broken, and that with the wind pressure cause the assembly to be pushed toward the wheel.

In two years of track time in my M, I run at 250kph all time and have never had an issue. Like you said, you hit something and broke the mounting hardware. Not that big a deal.

You will have to remove the front bumper cover to replace it properly.

I also had one fail and as said the 2 connectors have broken there only glued on and they simply press into the car bodywork and 2 thumbturn screws quiet poor design IMO.

Jack the car up and full lock you will gain enough access to fit a new one.

thanks fellas. Looks like an easy job and I've ordered the part.

I must admit thgat I don't mind cars with that level of performance having a few niggles (they're just divas :D )

Here are mine:
1. As above
2. Rear bumper mounts loose
3. Cigared lighter not working (and yes I have changed the fuse) - driving me mad that one becaus eI have to charge my Coyote (french speed camera warning).
4. GPS has got attitude and only decides to Freeze when I actually really needed it (just the once mind).

I am not sure how you would replace one with the bumper cover still on the car. Of course I have not tried this...

Here is a good link on the assembly. The poster was replacing ins non-face lift bumper with an ///M bumper but the pictures are pretty good.
