23i fuel consumption

BMW recommend 98 RON whenever possible

That's interesting. In my handbook it states: "Recommended petrol quality: premium grade petrol with RON 95."

But I confess that I also only use Tesco Momentum!

Maybe that's my mistake then.

BMW may have changed it for the E89 - I was going by what it said for my E86s and current 2005 330i!

My 23i manual says minimum 91 RON, but recommends 95 RON.
Says maximum 10% Ethanol (Don't tell gov. they will push that to 20%)!

From my limited experience your MPG sounds about right. I have a heavy foot and similar driving to yourself and that is roughly the MPG I get in mine. Still makes me smile though, even when I think of the money I burn every time I put the pedal to the metal.

Ex Commuter miler here 100 miles dailyish (thank you wfh). Anyways motorway miles full tank on the e89 25i auto usually 370miles easy. Average is 29 -31 thats including mixture of motorways and town.

I had a period of low mpg, 25-27mpg but that was due to poor tyres and alignment = runflats 😂.

Id check tyres really and I've always ran premium only put in standard once in my ownership but from other forum members not really too big of a difference just premium for peace of mind for me really.

I'm sitting on an average of 34.8 mpg in my 23i but I'm a cruiser. I love to give her a squirt every now and then but you are more likely to find me cruising around with a coffee and a podcast these days.

Sounds like me - I have an average of 35.3 over the last 14 months - 50% motorway / A roads and round town
