Hi All,

Just got a brace of new OEM tips arrive.
I can see they are a slide on interference fit thanks to the internal springs.

Has anyone removed these and if so how did you go about it, don't want to wreck the old ones, I might get them chromed up.

I squirted plenty of oil and managed to pull them off by hand.
Something like a dog collar wrapped tight around and wiggle it might have been easier. I even realised after i had a oil filter remover that would have done the job.

Rubber mallet and plenty of elbow grease. Wiggle, pull and twist.
Wear thick gloves and you can get more leverage without the metal digging in to your hands.

I used WD40 and a small tap with a cold chisel and a persuader (at the back of the tips) took 5 minutes to take them off and put the new ones on. Im waiting to get the old tips polished/re-chromed. Here's the before and after, not bad for £18.pipe.jpg

I lied they were £18.29 :D : https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01H09I3L6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks for the link, I just ordered these until I have time and funds to fit my 35is exhaust. Should tidy things up : )

Yep I was surprised how good they looked for that money, Ive even nicked a bottle of stainless steel cleaner from the kitchen, quick spray and wipe with a cloth and they are good as new, still waiting to get the originals re-chromed but not in a rush.

Where are you putting them for that?
I was told when I went to get ours chromed that they were stainless, so the guy polished them instead.
I saw pictures of them and they did a cracking job, there's a platers/polisher up in Larkhall so next time Im passing Ill pop in and get a price.

Hi looks great and cheap too - anyone know if all the tail pipes are the same diameter? mines the 2.0 i m sport and wondered if these would fit

Many thanks
