23i exhaust pipe diameter

Hi folks, anyone know the diameter of the exhaust pipes on the 23i, looking to change the exhaust tips :D

Hi Zed

I am looking at this exact same thing just now.
I managed to remove one of my original tips and measure it.
The pipe is 60mm so any of the aftermarket 63mm will be ok unless you have a side by side exhaust, thats when things become a bit more difficult.

I haven't found anything other than replacing with BMW original yet.

I really fancied the Akropovic style tips but can't seem to get the diameter's to work on a side by side. Would love for someone to find some slim ones. Keep us updated bud.

Try Amazon, i bought these for my 23i about £20 pair.
And yes, the two right hand are false exhaust, but looks great :D

Hi there.
That's a good look wouldn't know unless you said that the R/H are dummies. Can I ask did you cut the bumper yourself and if so what did you use?
And how did you fix the dummies and to what?
Think I would like to borrow your idea. :)

Ive ordered some cheapies from Amazon, even if they don't last it will give me an opportunity to get the originals professionally polished :)

Two versions, i stuck with the lower.
I made a simple bracket that bolts to a bumper mount. Two lengths of exhaust tube welded to bracket.
Then just sawed the the cut out, after tracing off the left side.
Gives it a proper balanced look.

Well my £18.29 cheapies arrived today from Amazonpipe.jpg, took less than 10 minutes to take the old ones off and the new ones on. They fit well, Ill get the originals either re chromed or polished.

They look like the ones i bought with the small drain hole.
Seems to be a lot of same product but with different names.

yep they have the small hole, really surprised how good they are for the money

I wonder whether the 23i backbox twin pipes are the same spacing /diameter as the 20i?

sorry don't know, E89 wasn't even on the list but two other BMW's were and someone had fitted them to an X3.. so for £18 I took a gamble. Replacement genuine BMW ones were just under £90 for the pair :o

Yes I did a similar trick but they didn’t quite fit they were about 3mm oversize ...so have a spare pair now..

I am slow! Just noticed that you have replaced the whole bumper then ? Have you still got the one in the top photo ?
