224 refurb disaster :(

Had my wheels booked in for a full refurb today, dropped the car off this morning and picking it up this evening. Asked for anthracite with a satin/matt finish. Guys mixed the paint and showed me, looked nice with sparkly bits to it. Turn up this evening to pick the car up and shock horror, not the colour i saw this morning   £240 wasted.

What do people think? I personally don't think it suits a silver car. Looks like i'll have to get them done again :headbang:

Not the best pictures as i was using my iphone, will try and take better ones tomorrow when the sun is out.

One i took this evening

Sorry buddy I agree, that's not a good look imo. I've got to ask why you didn't ask the refurb company to redo them and hold off payment until they are right?

Had already paid, school boy error really and to be fair it was my fault, he did show me the mixed colour, but its a case of what it looked like mixed up in a tin and what it looks like sprayed on.

It doesn't matter what we think, you clearly are not happy :-(

But since you asked, personally - I think that colour looks a bit odd against the black wheels. Hope it all gets resolved quickly.

do they have a sample of the colour on a paint card? I mean.. anthracite isn't .. green?!

+1 for getting it back to a nicer colour, personally i think silver looks good on silver :)

Yep that's really odd, it's got tinge of blue/green on it.
Maybe their laquer was tinted from a previous job, would ask them to redo :(

Just as a different perspective I think those wheels would look good on a black car or something similar. Why not sell them as they are and buy another set off of eBay possibly in the right colour already. Btw I'm not trying to buy yours wheels as I'm just a poor student lol :) you would get good money on freshly refurbed wheels and could pick some tatty ones up cheap

Does look a bit odd. Might be worth having a word and explaining your disappointment and you would prefer another colour. Obviously the refurb has been done and it's now just a top coat that's needed. This might mean a lower cost second time around - maybe?
Shame because they are nice wheels. I'm biased with colours but shadow chrome would look okay - I think.
Hope they can cut you a deal to ease the wallet grief.

That's a shame & clearly more blue than grey .
Guessing you were wanting similar to "Lux" had done on his ?

perhaps he could get you the paint code ?

If you requested anthracite, the result simply isn't what you asked for, go back and talk to them.
At least give them the opportunity to make good, if they refuse then let us all know where to avoid.
Most of these businesses get work by word of mouth recommendations so you may find they will be happy to help, it's gotta be worth a try.

The problem with grey is there are so many different shades of it & one person's idea of anthracite, ferric, graphite etc can be different to anothers
I appreciate its not what OP wants but he was shown the paint shade & OKd it so i don't think you can blame the refurbers or expect them to re do them for free

About 50 Shades apparently......

I would show the pics from this thread. Lux's car looks great ybut ours looks awful.

Very difficult to get the right look with a silver car, unless you just stick with silver.

H.

Looks like a blue/grey to me i would give them a call and say your not happy.

They may even agree to do the wheels for half the usual price or something if they wont do it for free.

line up those centre badges with the M wheel badges too :poke: :D

Let us know how you get on.
