Hi everyone

Looking to get one of these cars pretty soon. Undecided which version though! Curently drive a Seat Leon FR 1.4 147bhp. I want the new car to feel different ie more power ect. Budget means im leaning towards the 20i. Ahhh decisions

Appreciate all the advice :)

Welcome to the forum! If power is important to you then definitely go for the 28i if you can afford it. You may regret it if you opt for less hp.

Are you looking to buy new or used? Ex-Demo? If used how old?

Do you have a budget in mind? And what extras do you want or would like it to have? i.e. What could you not do without and what would be 'nice to haves'. Leather is standard as are xenons. Heated seats for me are a must. Do you want a standard or m sport version? M sport is more expensive but it looks better and is more desirable on the 2nd hand market.

I'd recommend you test drive both, as it's very difficult to make a decision unless you've driven them both, ideally back to back. I'd still favour the 6 cylinder models, but it all depends what you want from the car. There are some good dealer discounts if you are going for new, have a look at broadspeed as an indication of what's available. There tend to be larger discounts given on the 28i so the cost differences against a 20i isn't than much and worth the extra.

Not driven either, but I'm guessing there's a discernible difference between 181 bhp and 241 bhp.

I've had both, went from a 28 to a 20.

Can't say that I noticed any difference, certainly not worth the difference in price IMO. The 20 does everything I want performance wise and the money you save can go towards nice little extras like Msport and auto gearbox. I believe that Idrive is standard these days so you get that if buying new or nearly new.

The 28 does have a nice exhaust burble if that's what turns you on! :D

Nice to see another doc john!

The only time less power is better than more power is when your traveling backwards into a hedge :D
