2026 map update?

Replaced my e86 with an E89 in March and trying to get to grips with the satnav. The car won't add to the BMW app annoyingly, apparently they have to do that "at their end" as the codes ar not recognised by the app for some reason, however the reason I want to do this is to update the maps which are 2014! I have a 2014 335 which I updated through a connected drive download in 2024, easy and cheap (ish) but Ive been told that you can't do that anymore on either car. My local Stratstone have quoted £220 for the z4 and booking in for the full day which is just ridiculous. I don't really want to rely on Google Maps / Waze etc but surely there's an easier and cheaper way to load up 2026 maps to the car? any recommendations would be gratefully received

I believe there are sellers on eBay where you can buy the maps and a lifetime key, although they are also available online if you know where to look, I had help from Dave, AnubisZed when I updated mine back in 2019, although since fitting the mr12volt MMI unit I haven’t used the BMW satnav, I now always use google maps.

Afaik 2H2025 was the last e89 idrive update..available from multiple sources

I've found a supplier called satnavupgrades.co.uk which looks the business, also advised the right map etc. If anyone has used them I'd appreciate any feedback on them if poss. Many thanks to the replies, very helpful, thanks

Yes I used them no issues

I have a 2016 car and have the same issue. I can not add my car to the app.

Same. 2015. I spent ages batting emails back and forth to BMW - they said they tried resetting things their end but no joy. One time I got a code on the car but the app said it was wrong. 🤨
