2023 Snowdonia Trip - Day 2

Since 2015 a few of us have been getting away late September/early October for a few days fun in the Zeds. (SRHutch, Stu-Boy, StuartT and myself, with Daz joining us tomorrow) Currently we have 2x ZMR’s, an Alpina and a E89 35iS Daz will join us tomorrow in his Cayman having sold his previous Imola ZMR a few years back

Originally we travelled to Normandy for a couple of years before doing Yorkshire and Cumbria, but recent years have returned us to Snowdonia with a Bala base.

Day 1
We left Swansea and headed up over the Black Mountains, through Rhayader and the Elan Valley, Devils Bridge, Dolgellau and on to Bala.

We managed to snap a few pics on the way

I'm seriously jealous!

I had a great weekend around Wales in 2021 and would like to do another trip there.

I'll have to make do with the Scottish lowlands in a couple of weeks.

Stayed a few times in Rhayader on my way picking up and dropping of my son at Aberystwyth Uni, lovely part of the world with some nice roads. Not in the Zed didn't have it then. :thumbsdown:

Day2

We woke this morning to a rather wet and dismal overcast day but managed a quick line up by the lake after breakfast l



As we made our way up over the mountain we encountered more mist and more rain, but that still didn’t deter our progress !





And then the fun began, but we still cracked on …




We met up with Daz in his Cayman at the Ponderosaa Cafe for another line up

That view is stunning. We spent our first night in that hotel when I did my Welsh trip!

Day 3 (last Day)

A drier day today when we headed West over to Pwllheli, North to Nefyn, then back towards Beddgelert, Capel Curig, Bates, Blaenau and back to Bala. Roughly a 130 mile round trip.

Absolutely superb trip as always Al thanks for putting the effort in you make it easy for us all, the Bala base is perfect, great company and great roads, you planned some superb routes for some spirited driving! :wink: roll on next years road trip, did someone say Brugge? 8)
