2023 - Getting 2nd Key Finally - Question re Digital Key

Hello. When we bought our 2023 Z4 a couple of weeks ago, they only had one key. (Only 8K miles)
The dealer said that a 2nd key was needed to enable the digital key function and they agreed to order one for us. It arrived and I take it to have it paired to the car tomorrow.

Question:
Does the charging pad need to be enabled for it to work with a digital key?

Reason I ask is that the charging pad doesn't appear to function and there's not option in the iDrive menu to enable it under settings. The car should be equipped with it however, as it shows the icon on the pad, etc.
Will I be able to setup the digital key to use the car with my phone?

I want to be prepared for the discussion with the dealer folks tomorrow to ensure it all works when we're done.

This forum doesn't seem to be too active.

I went to the dealer. Learned my car does. not have the wireless charging. The logo on the pad is for the digital key only.
That's fine because the wireless charging sucks anyway (I have it in my M550).

Pairing the key was easy. Glad to have his and hers profiles on the car. I haven't setup the digital key function yet though. Very curious how well that will work.

I think the issue is that there aren't that many G29's out there compared to the other Z4s. I found the key card it in the glove box amongst the book pack (daft place for it), got it setup on my phone also but not really tried it out.

Loving the Z4 so far. Went from a MB SLC to this car (technically my wife did) and no regrets. We're a 2 BMW family now (for daily's... have a Lotus for fun)

The digital key (or Digital Key) on a BMW, as on other modern brands, allows you to use your smartphone to unlock, start and drive your car, instead of the physical key. But for everything to work properly, certain elements must be activated and configured.

On the subject of the digital key card, could anyone confirm if the card should black or white for a UK 2019 2.0i Msport?

Ordered a new one which confirmed it should be black with the BMW lettering in silver. Had to order it in person at the dealer with ID, the V5 document and the car (so a photograph of the windscreen VIN could be taken).

If I purchased my Z4 (used) and received 2 regular keys, but how can I be sure a previous owner doesn't have a phone or card 'digital key' which can still work with my car?
