Overall a big thumbs down from me. Every aspect looks worse. I can just about live with the front end and arches but the back end looks completely out of place. the interior looks awful. The new tech seems to be the only improvement in my eyes.

What does everyone else think?

Don't get the point of it. Space inside will be no better than a saloon yet you'll be paying a premium for it. Stupid car if you ask me. However if it generates loads of money for BMW so they can develop other beasts then fair enough.

MErc are just as bad outside but at least their interiors don’t look like a fussy spare parts shop.

I really have an issue with current BMW interiors. The e89 and old 6’er are the exception.

Its not too bad, but its very much in the merc gle coupe silhouette, not a bad thing if you like it like that.

Nice to see a double size sunroof, the previous single pane x4 sunroof was a bit stingy.

Will need to see it in the flesh and in carbon black before I give it a thumbs up/down

That ..

Is one fat ugly monstrosity .. even makes the countryman look better looking

good luck with that ! as said glad I left the BMW fold some time ago .... :poke:

Not a fan - I just can't see the point of chopping part of the load-space off.

Still I believe there is an X2 on the way now - presumably an X1 with the same treatment! Another minger on it's way to a showroom near you!

OP, no offence, but the X4 is the worst looking car in the whole BMW line up. It must have been some deal to buy one in the first place...

I prefer the evoque.
Not sure what they are like to drive and own.

I had one from new for 3 yrs and 90K mikes from 2014 as a company car and can honestly say it’s been the worst car I’ve had, broken springs, central locking, gearbox issues, had a new one in at 65K but had problems from 10K miles, cut out on me whilst overtaking, blocked fuel filter, shocking tbh

That was my concern. My neighbours boss had a range rover and that was far from reliable (new gearbox amongst other things), considering the money you pay for them!

Yeah I’d steer clear tbh, my friend had had many RR Autobiography models and they’ve been poor too, all from new, he says it’s just something you have to put up with

How is it setting sights on a Range Rover Evoque... :|
I drive both vehicles fairly regularly and they're nothing alike

Don't know what it is but BMW seem incapable of building a good reliable SUV. Ever since they first entered the game with E53 X5 they've been a nightmare. Owning two of them back in the day was enough to put me off BMW SUVs ever since.
