No pics from me I'm afraid but a heap of thanks to Craig, John and my fellow forumites for being an awesome bunch of people.
The feel good vibe of the weekend was summed up for me by two acts of kindness that sandwiched the trip - sk93 for helping me out when I wrecked my passenger mirror a couple of hours before leaving home and cherrym for stopping when my car threw some warning lights at Alston just as the main group set off. I urged him to leave so he didn't get left behind but he insisted in making sure we were ok and knew which way to bail out and set off for home. You're both a credit to the forum.
A few more mentions...
Harpal - travelling up despite not being able to join in on either run! Great to talk to you and hope to see you out on a run in the future.
John and Janice - had a fun chat with these guys at the BBQ and couldn't believe that John had sprayed the car himself in his back garden. Balls of steel sir!
RBAZ3.4 and his wife - all the way from Cornwall. Amazing effort and lovely people - I'm chuffed you won the top raffle prize. Again!
Tony and Ruth - always a pleasure. I'm still working on convincing Tina that a Lotus Evora is a practical family car with stacks of room for a pushchair.
Thanks to everyone else we chatted to over the course of the weekend, what a friendly lot!
The only negative for me was being overtaken by the M3 (badly IMO - forcing an oncoming car to let him travel down the middle of the road) and then being cut off from the group. What happened to the no overtaking other members unless signalled by? I think Taz made a very good point about people perhaps needing to look after those behind them as well as chasing the car in front...
I doubt very much I'll still have a Zed next year but we'll probably be there regardless, it's too good to miss.
