2014 Z4 35iS Valencia Orange

After almost 4 years, it's time to sell the car (defintely, this time!) - one of just 264 Valencia Orange 35iS ever made. I'd love for it to be bought by someone who will continue to love it.

For the last year it's been kept in a car port on a smart charger and since August last year

I'm buying a new house soon and there just won't be space for the Z4 to be kept properly long term. The money would be handy too! It's only done 2,000 miles since August and sadly I can't really justify keeping it any longer. It was, is and probably always will be my dream car.

It has been looked after by BMW dealerships until I decided not to renew the warranty at the end of 2021, and then by Birds BMW ever since - arguably the best regarded N54 experts in the UK.

Mechanically it has had no expense spared, but although it still looks stunning there are some aesthetic details that most forum owners would want to touch up. The front bumper corner had a small scrape (the joys of having to leave it parked on street in a city centre every night) and there's a scratch on the adjacent wheel arch. There's also a scrape on the bottom of the front bumper. There are stone chips as you'd expect for the age and mileage.

There are also a couple of very small areas where the lacquer has come away, on the bumper and on the drivers side skirt just in front of the rear wheel. I suspect both are from stone chips, and have both been there for around 2 years and have not worsened - it isnt peeling. I haven't bothered rectifying as they're only noticable up close.

I'm probably making all that sound worse than it is, it still looks stunning - a month ago someone asked if it was on private plates, because they couldn't believe it was 10 years old.

Optional extras:
- cruise control
- heated seats
- parking sensors
- 0677 hifi professional (top speaker option)
- iDrive
- design pure traction interior

Modifications are mostly quite subtle and more OEM+ than anything too outlandish:
- MHD off the shelf map stage 1 (about 365bhp so not much more than standard, can be removed before sale)
- MHD linear throttle, 1M throttle response, slightly louder pops and bangs in sport mode, slightly quieter in comfort mode (can all be removed before sale)
- BMW E90 M3 front upper and lower control arms
- eibach Pro kit lowering springs (only very slightly lower)
- BMW 788M wheels (from the M2 Competition)
- BMW black front grill
- gloss black M-Sport style wing mirrors (originals also included in the sale)
- wing and boot badges removed
- smarttop for one touch window and roof operations
- gloss black painted side indicators and roll hoops
- miami blue wrapped V bars behind front grill (can be removed prior to sale)
- diamond floor mats to protect the originals underneath and carpets
- wireless phone charger with magnetic mount wired into dash
- 50th Anniversary M badges all around

Tyres are all non-runflat Continental SportContact 7:
Front 245/35 - About 4/5mm left
Rear 275/30 - About 6mm left, have done approx 2k miles

New battery March 2023.

Basically, the car has been loved and looked after, and had a lot of money spent on it throughout my ownership.

Current mileage 78,800 (will continue to be used occasionally). The car has been looked after and loved, in the 30,000+ miles I've owned it the engine has always been allowed to warm up before going past 3,000 revs.

Asking price is £14,995. I feel that's a sensible price based on what else is for sale currently, the spec and the mechanic and exterior condition. Located in Mere, Wiltshire, just off the A303.

Very happy to answer any questions, provide any extra detail, take more photos/videos.

That looks absolutely stunning. Valencia Orange and Melbourne Red are the two best colours for E89s imo. I’m sure you will have no difficulty selling.

Thanks both, not sure what to expect with the market where it is, but I had plenty of interest at a similar time last year at a higher price and before the new improved water pump was fitted, and there are only 4 on Autotrader at the moment so fingers crossed!

Obviously I think it's a beauty, but I'm severely biased!

A true 'forum car' that one.
Good luck with the sale, Will. Funky wheels! :D
The buyers are there just not many ATM.

Thanks both, probably worth pointing out (thanks Pondrew!) that it was previously owned by another forum member who also cared for it meticulously.

It's not perfect cosmetically, as you'd expect for the age and mileage, but it's got more documented provenance on here and on paper than 99% of alternatives. Probably less likely than most to throw any surprises.

The only two of similar year on Autotrader are a few £k more, lower mileage but only part service history.

In my humble opinion a car advertised by a long-standing and respected forum member (not the clowns who sign up just to flog their POS for free) should be at the very top of potential buyers' lists. There are cars....and there are cars. Not all are equal. :)

Agreed, but we would say that, wouldn't we?!

You won’t be surprised to hear that I don’t agree with all Pondrew’s observations. But I think he is spot on this time. The 3.5is I had came from another Forum member who had in turn bought it from the Forum. It was exactly as described. Over the years I have both bought and sold items and have always had a good experience.👍

This is a stunning looking car, good spec and obviously well loved and cared for.
Fair price, a lot of car for the money.
Terrible time to be selling in the middle of the UK winter and the economy in the dumps.
GLWS hope it finds a new loving home.

That's a lovely thing. The orange paint and interior are such a great combo.

I'm in the market for a good 35i/is, but unfortunately that's right at the tippy-top of my budget for a relatively standard car.

Yeah I think you'd probably need upgraded intercooler, downpipes, dampers and LSD to get it where you'd want it to be. Easily an extra £5-6k or more. Maybe ARB's too.

Kind of funny that I've had one interested party walk away because it's too modified, and now another who would like it to be more modified! Just waiting for Goldilocks...

Shame, I would love to see it go around the Nurburgring. I mean, I'd really love to drive it round the Nurburgring myself, but I'd also like to retire before I'm 75 so some tough choices need to be made!

Price is negotiable to a degree, but I've turned down a couple of £13.5k offers so far.

The 35i/is is a tricky car to sell, based on the people I've been talking to who are selling theirs. Most seem to have been for sale for a long time, and I've had a few people offer me discounts on their list price straight out of the gate.

Yours looks too good an example for what I'm after, and it would be a shame to pull it apart and thrash it around a track.

It's definitely a small target market, that's for sure!

Owned exactly the same car for 7 years. Someone is going to be a very happy bunny if they buy this one.
