2014 or 2015

There are no specific differences…there may be minor revisions to various sub components as these get changed throughout the production life..

In each national market there may be changes in packages and bundles marketing wise.

AFAIK there were no changes in colour or trim availability.

I searched the forum, but could not find an answer... What is the differences between a 2014 and 2015 35i and 35is?
Did you mean, as you've typed, 35i and 35is?

This previous post may be of help...

For clarification the difference between the 2014 and 2015 35i. Also, the difference from the 2014 and 2915 35is.

Pretty sure the 2915 model will have a flux capacitor, cloaking device, auto-hover and warp drive :driving:

To the best of my knowledge, there is no difference between years 2014 and 2015 for all models. The differing year was the 2013 LCi update, to which is well documented on this and other sites.

The only difference will be the care and maintenance of the previous owners and mileage. In making a purchasing decision between the two, buy the one with the best mileage, least damage, and most documented care/maintenance.

Or just pick the one with the spinny floating center caps... so worth it!

So no differences in model years for either 35i or 35is

Your specialist subject ‘the life and times of the Z4 35i and 35is’

35is always came with DSG box and adaptive dampers..35i may have neither, either or both of those
35is had a different ECU map with an extra 30 ish BHP and 50nm torque
35is had monogrammed car mats and logo in the tachometer
35is had a slightly noisier rear exhaust silencers
35is had MSport bodywork in two versions…35i could have non MSport or both MSport versions
35is had a lateral plastic trim inset 2/3 up each lower MSport bumper inset

In other markets non UK 35i had smaller brakes

What are two versions of the MSport bodykit on the 35is? I thought they were all the same?

There were two rear ends..one had a uniform valance colour matched to the bumper colour..the other was a valance with a diffuser…the diffuser was in black, valance was colour matched…

My car had that option but I reversed it so valance was black and diffuser in body colour..

Impressed ? :tumbleweed:

Forgot that optionally 35is may have silver coloured wing mirror caps to match silvef plastic insets in bumper..

I always thought the 35i had the black bit around the exhausts (no diffuser) with an option for body colour, and the 35is always had a body colour section around the exhausts.

Never seen a 35is without a diffuser, always in black.

On reflection you are probably correct…I have seen 35i with the diffuser but they may have been fitted aftermarket…Mr Wilks here on the forum had one , i can’t recollect whether it was like that when he bought it or he retrofitted it..

So there are two versions..the diffuser version only was fitted to the 35is..the 35i could / may have had both.

It’s certainly listed as an option for the 35i in realoem.

I think that's right.

35i could have anything - standard was black trim around the exhausts - but you could option body colour. Diffuser wasn't standard, but may have been a paid option or an aftermarket swap out. Could have msport / standard styling.

35is was always msport, always body colour around the exhausts / standard black diffuser (no options to reconfigure)

I think this is correct, in the case of the 35i it's more likely a retrofit rather than something an owner could have specced from the factory and the 35is came only ever came with the black diffuser and body coloured surround.

I thought 35is from 2015 had some different internals which addressed some common issues?

I do keep an auto trader search open for 35is from 2015
for this reason….

I think the N20 variants from 2015 had similar internal revisions like timing chain guides etc.
