Johny is a great person full of character. He hasn't been around so much recently and hope it's not due to some people trolling him.
It's lovely to see someone with so much enthusiasm and love for their car.

Well said. Sometimes it is necessary for the forum to pull it's collective head out it's ass and move on

Well ive had a remap in january which gave me 20bhp midrange and now the Zed goes into the shop monday for some real work....Aero skirts, a BMW strut brace and a full front bumper respray to rid number plate holes and stone chips that have occured in the last 13 months, pics up soon.
In May sees bespoke releathered seats

Jonny, are you saying you saw no gain in horse power, the remap just applies the original horsepower in a different way? If so, I'll probably give the remap a miss and save the difference for trade in time.

Not having a go, just chipped enough cars to know the claims car owners and Chip sellers make are Laughable.

Are you sure your not mixing up BHP with TORQUE ?

You could just about gain 20NM of Torque on the 2.0lt engine, with small BHP gains progressive through the power curve, but i asure you (my money where mouth is) you wont gain 20-25bhp from a remap, regardless of a K&N filter and exhaust on that engine.

All cars will loose a minimal amount of power over time unless your rebuilding the engine anually. On average 1% for every 10k miles, this is down to Valves and/or valve seats wear n tear, Camshaft wear altering valve timing! Wear and tear in fuel pump, and fuel injectors, induction dirt and grime (which is increased with a K&N), these are all things that are never touched in a normal garage service.

Get it on the rolling road mate, before and after.

I did wonder if he was talking NM instead of HP too, his post would make much more sense then, even the claims of the remappers who we all know are optimistic only quote a max of 12HP increase for this engine.
