Interesting spec

Was reading the other day about PDK only, think it was in Evo. Price seems reasonable in comparison to the C2S?

Agreed on the price Wondermike. Using the term "bargain" for a car costing £100k sounds a bit odd, but compared to C2S it is a bargain I reckon.

It's a GT3 version of PDK (a fair few changes to a regular Porsche PDK) but I think it's a shame there isn't a manual option but I suppose that's the way the market is moving.

Some more pics here on the Autocar site. Looks great IMO.http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/geneva-motor-show-2013/geneva-motor-show-porsche-911-gt3

They do appear to have the paddle action the "wrong" way round though - although the shift lever is the right way round.

Manual shifting is achieved using two paddles on the steering wheel, the left-hand for upshifts and the right-hand for downshifts. Shorter shifting travel and optimised actuating force result in even faster gearshifts with concise feedback, similar to the operating characteristics of the 911 GT3 Cup race car. Alternatively, the driver can also shift using the selector lever, with a shift pattern based on that used in professional motor sports: shifting up is done by pulling the lever back, shifting down by pushing it forward.

Much shorter gearing too, just when everyone else is running really tall gearing for better emissions, which I hate :driving:

I usually prefer the GT2 but this sounds awesome.

Really does look the business and I bet it’s a wonderful machine to drive , bummer on the lack of Metzger 6. They must have resolved former issues of old, like you say 100k ..is not bad compared to others in the field

The market is indeed moving more towards accepting auto boxes or computer operated manual or whatever you want to terms them as (I know some have issue with people referring to PDK, DSG etc as an auto). Someone that works for DVLA recently posted statistics on M135i orders. Over a third of the cars ordered were automatics.

I know one GT3 owner that started crying last year when he initially heard it would be PDK only. He's since come round to the idea and I dare say he will be having one of these at some point. Although he's now concerned the rear wing may not be big enough ( :D first world problems eh)
