2012 Road Trip

It'll be easy to hook up at zedfest, but we really should make sure those of us going to Le Mans have a plan for at least having a beer or two :icb:

Planning a trip down the Route Napoleon to Juan Les Pins in late May, and also classic Le Mans in July.
My mate has a part share in a flat in JLP, so we're going down in a convoy (E86 Z4 Coupe, E89 Z4, MR2 Mk3 & Caterham) to decorate his flat - each carrying a small pot of paint & a paintbrush. Gives us a great excuse to go & not take the women! :D

Sounds like a good idea. I'll be a Le Mans virgin though so have no intention of attempting to organise such a meet! I'll wait and be told where to meet :)

Ditto - awaiting guidance on the Le Mans thread now I've registered my intent

all more than welcome to come with me on this little adventure :-)

Monza GP for me this year. I'll take three days either side of it to take the interesting routes to and from Blighty.

Would love to go to Monza for the atmosphere - however not being a Ferrari F1 fan I might feel its a bit intimidating!

Maybe off to Scotland this year, for a rant around the hills :driving:
Probably what I'll be doing. Including a trip to my old village Drumnadrochit. Which handily means a boon along the side of Loch Ness.

Done Alps every year for the past 9 years, thought I'd look at Norway again, went out there in 2001 Kayaking, breath taking views, but quite a few dead straight roads not so good when you like to follow the letter Z. I can remember the fuel being very expensive as well

Hi all,
We have a trip booked for europe in June taking in France, Switzerland and the Italian lakes. I have allowed 10 days in all. If anyone has any tips that would be great.
Only bought the Zed just before Christmas so really looking forward the trip. Just got 1 more hotel to book in Italy but can`t dicide where at the moment, it needs to be close to lake Garda.
Cheers.

Euro trips for me are as follows:

1) Easter ring
2) May Ring (or 3 below)
3) Mega trip to S/France for Monaco GP and Cannes Film festival - route is broadly as: UK, France, Switzerland, Italy, S/France - 7-8 days planned :driving: Hoping to have a mini convoy for this trip but not too large that it brings unwanted attention...
4) 2 more ring trips (June then Oct)

I'm quite looking forward to (3) as this will be my first proper road trip since 2006 when between 2004 and 2006 had done Barcelona, Geneva, and Milan. All the fun seemed to stop in 2007 :( :( , so keen to get things going again...

Just listening to BBC 24 which shows euro at a 17 month low... hope the trend continues through the year in favour of sterling (just my opinion) and sorry if this affects anyone adversely

Hoping for Scotland and then another trip , maybe catch a ferry to northern Spain, then across the Pyranees, southern france, italy, alps and back

Having watched top gear on Sunday, I really want to do one down to Italy...but would much prefer to do it with a couple of other zed's!
